We are thrilled to share exciting news about Denzil Forrester, a visionary whose work pulses with the energy of dub and reggae. Earlier this year, Lincoln Center Editions partnered with Forrester to release the limited-edition print Reverb in honor of Lincoln Center’s free festival, Summer for the City. This October marks a defining moment in his career with the Robson Torr Award and two venue solo exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery and Andrew Kreps Gallery.
🏆 2024 Robson Orr TenTen Award Winner
Denzil Forrester has received the Robson Orr TenTen Award, presented by the Government Art Collection. This prestigious award recognizes Forrester’s impact on the arts and print commission. His award-winning work, Altar, captures the electric energy of Cornwall’s reggae festivals with vibrant colors and expressive movement—an homage to the music and nightlife that inspire him.
This award places Forrester in esteemed company, alongside past recipients like Hurvin Anderson and Lubaina Himid, and marks a new chapter in his artistic journey.
Two Islands, One World (October 25 - December 18, 2024)
Curated by Sheena Wagstaff (former Chief Curator of Tate Modern), this two venue exhibition explores Forrester’s five-decade journey spanning his youth in Grenada and his life in 1980's London to his relocation to Cornwall.
