New Marlon Mullen Print Celebrates Big Umbrella Festival

Lincoln Center Editions is excited to release a limited-edition benefit print by artist Marlon Mullen, created in celebration of Big Umbrella Day on July 5, 2025.

Big Umbrella Day is a day-long event at Lincoln Center designed with and for neurodiverse audiences. It offers relaxed performances, hands-on art-making, and multi-sensory experiences across campus—creating a welcoming space for children, teens, and adults of all abilities.

To mark the occasion, Lincoln Center has partnered with Mullen, a longtime artist at NIAD Art Center, a progressive studio in Richmond, California, for artists with developmental disabilities. His bold, textural paintings are inspired by art magazines and catalogs, reinterpreting design and typography in a powerful, abstract style.

Mullen’s work is currently on view at the Museum of Modern Art, and he has exhibited at the Whitney Biennial, SFMOMA, The Studio Museum in Harlem, and more. His art is in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Whitney, and SFMOMA.

The benefit print is available for purchase at art.lincolncenter.org or by emailing art@lincolncenter.org. All proceeds support Lincoln Center’s inclusive cultural programming.

A free poster version of the print will be available on Big Umbrella Day at the Samuel B. & David Rose Building and Damrosch Park, while supplies last.
