William Kentridge was born in South Africa, 1955.

In 2010, the artist directed and designed a new production of The Nose for The Metropolitan Opera. The show was based on a 1903 opera of the same name by Dmitri Shostakovich, which drew inspiration from an earlier story written by Nikolai Gogol in 1836. This hand signed , imited-edition print was commissioned by Lincoln Center in conjunction with the project and was created by the artist at the Brodsky Center for Innovative Editions at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
