Collection: Miles Regis

Miles Regis was born in 1967 in San Fernando, Trinidad, into a family immersed in the arts. Miles grew up surrounded by music and visual art, with early exposure to steel drums, calypso, jazz, soul, funk, reggae, and hip-hop. Regis himself briefly joined David and Michael Boothman's jazz ensemble Kysofusion as lead singer on a U.S. tour in 1988.

Creative expression was central to Regis’s life from an early age, spanning both painting and music. He performed in the popular Trinidadian band Fireflight, wrote and sang commercial jingles, and collaborated with key figures like producer Pelham Goddard and his uncle, Jamaican playwright Trevor Rhone.

In 1989, Regis moved to the United States, first settling in Los Angeles were he was accepted to the University of Southern California, where he majored in creative writing.

Regis’s first professional breakthrough as an artist came in 1997, when one of his paintings appeared in Erykah Badu’s music video for Next Lifetime. Since then, his dynamic visual language—fusing text, symbolism, and rhythm—has earned him international acclaim. His work continues to reflect a deep engagement with storytelling, identity, and the diasporic experience.
