Screen print on Coventry rag paper
Edition of 108
28 x 44 inches
A six (6) color screen print of day-glo green and magenta on Coventry rag paper. This signed and numbered edition of 108 was created by Mark di Suvero and published in 2000.
The image captures the dynamic form of Mark di Suvero's sculpture. The great scale and vertical thrust of his steel constructions are depicted at his studio with a view of Manhattan’s East River skyline beyond. The print suggests the remarkable visual experience one has when surrounded by his creations.
Often referred to as a kinetic artist, di Suvero has used motion as a central element of many of his sculptures since the 1960s. Equally important is a viewer’s participation in the work – moving around to capture its changing vistas, or interacting directly with the sculpture by swinging or banging on it. He is an idealist, looking to reignite the sense of wonder that is often lost as one progresses through life.
